Robert Porter Construction partnered with Strategic Solar Energy to install solar canopies at Tucson/ KOA Lazydays Campground and RV Park. The project, known as PowerParasol® produces one megawatt of solar energy from 3,500 solar panels mounted on top of two RV shade canopies. The renewable energy created is integrated in Tucson Electric Power’s grid. The solar shade structures cover two acres of land (one acre per structure). This is a first-of-its-kind project for KOA Kampgrounds of America.
